My husband and I have been together 40 years.
30 years ago we went to a couples retreat weekend. It was horrible and he spent the weekend in the car. Since then he refuses to go to any couples in any group setting.
I attended the couples weekend by Constantly Healthy alone. I made some friends and learned a lot.
I really loved the video "it's not about the nail" and the Tale of Two Brains. My husband watched the Tale of Two Brains and loved it. He looked up the speaker and found he is in Sanford this month, so we are going together.
This one simple thing prompted a discussion and he found a book by one of our favorite authors: Bulletproof Marriage and we have started listening this daily.
What has happened is that we are finding our way to better communication. I have learned a lot about myself and we have begin to have more open communication about things we have not discussed in decades. He has even agreed to go to couples counseling if I desire for us to go. I will attend again.
The Constantly Healthy weekend for couples has had a big impact on our marriage. Whether a person attends alone or as a couple, much will be learned.
The weekend was constructed in a way that did not require people to share anything unless they chose to. The group atmosphere was conducive to opening up, sharing and finding new courage and strength to move forward in relationships. I made some new friends and felt inspired. A very small change has had a big impact in our relationship as well as our relationships with our children.
I have been going to Constance for about 5 months now and she has helped me tremendously, individually and in my relationships. Everyone one on her team is amazing.
I feel like we are learning how to communicate with each other properly without attacking. I have loved the whole conference—Constance and her team are amazing. I truly feel like therapy has helped us so much, not just in our relationship, but even our relationship with our friends, family members, and ourselves. Definitely go next time!!!
We've had a great time at the Constantly Healthy Couple's Retreat. It has been a great reflection of everything that we have learned so far in therapy together and on our own journey. Truly thankful for Constance and Constantly Healthy.
